QUESTION: "I'm wondering if you will be posting any videos/or making a webcast, because on hearing you talk about your courses and some of the testimonials, it seems that there is lot do with posture, so I was concerned that without being in a live workshop, I may miss those nuances that could really make the difference."
TAHNEE'S ANSWER: "The question you ask is a great one. Yes, part of what I teach in speaking with feminine power is about how we use our body when we speak. But that is just one small part of what I teach. I also teach how to connect to the heart, work with our intention, connect with our audience, speak in the now, speak our truth without an agenda, connect to our intuition, manage audience energetics, speak without needing notes, develop trust, grace, and confidence as a speaker and many many other things.
But when I do teach the body parts of my courses, I draw on the incredible Feldenkrais Method, which is a truly transformational method that can completely change the way we use our bodies when we speak. I generally give my students audio tracks with Feldenkrais "Awareness Through Movement" lessons on them. These lessons are movement explorations that are actually done lying on the floor with your eyes closed, so you don't need to be watching me on a webinar or video. They are designed to help you explore how YOU move and discover new ways of moving that are effortless and graceful and powerful for YOU, rather than by you copying how the teacher moves. It's a completely different way of learning, and is truly profound and incredibly effective. So it means that my classes are really effective over audio and telecall. And even when I run live workshops in person, when I get to the body stuff we generally work like this doing movement explorations with the eyes closed, so it's the same. The difference is that in live workshops, I can observe you while you're speaking, so that is an added bonus, and I can point out body habits to you that you may not be able to sense in yourself. But I can't really do that over the internet, as most of the people doing my courses don't have web cams, so I wouldn't be able to see them anyway. But I've found that simply by my asking very specific pointed questions that get them to sense their body while they are speaking, my online students tend to notice many of their habits, and generally experience PROFOUND shifts. So I hope that's answered your question somewhat! It really was a great question!" |
